In 1946 Jimmy Carter graduated from the Naval Academy. Six years later he’s in an interview with Hyman Rickover to join the nuclear submarine program. This is a big deal.
Carter is proud of his experience, graduating in the top 10% of his class but Rickover asks, did you do your best?
